"If it wasn't for Annabeth's mother, I wouldn't be stuck like this," Arachne grumbled.
"But I didn't do anything, did I?" Annabeth asked.
"You tricked me into weaving my own trap!" Arachne said angrily.
"And recovered the Athena Parthenos," Annabeth said.
"That doesn't matter!" Arachne said.
"All with a broken ankle."
Arachne glared at Annabeth, completely silent.

"I don't choose to be brave," Annabeth said. "I have to be."
Arachne rolled her eyes. "If you think this will change the rivalry between your mother and Poseidon, you're wrong."
Annabeth frowned, and backed up towards Percy. She suddenly kissed him, and the coin grew warmer and warmer in her pocket. She took it out, and held it, ignoring the pain. They kissed for a while, until the coin exploded with a huge blast.
