Several days passed, and Annabeth didn't come out of her cabin. She didn't see the point in going outside if Percy wasn't there. She missed him so much it constantly felt like part of her was missing, and after several months, she began to lose hope that she would ever see Percy again.

Maddie stayed in the woods the whole time. She felt angry at everyone. She knew she really didn't have a reason to be mad, but she still was. It felt like the whole world turned against her suddenly, and there wasn't anything she could do about it.
