Maddie felt pain in her wrist, and saw the gears in her left wrist weren't spinning.
"Dang it..." Maddie muttered. She stuck her knife into her wrist, and twisted it around, hoping to get the gears going again.

Maddie stayed in her cabin the rest of the day. She knew she should be happy that Percy was back, but she just couldn't make herself happy. She didn't even know what happiness felt like, so she wasn't even sure if she would know she was happy if she actually was happy.
