"Okay, then," Maddie said. "Annabeth was feeling sad, so she gave herself up to an orphanage. After a lot of stressing out and looking for her, I found her. The people at the orphanage said that I needed an adult to adopt Annabeth, instead of me. So I got my stepdad to adopt Annabeth, and now we're technically stepsisters."
