The Cyclopes were dying. Soon nearly half of them were wiped out. Maddie was getting relieved, when they started reforming quickly.
"That's not right," Maddie said.
A Cyclops laughed. "Of course it's not! Your soul is slowly being taken! Once we have it, we shall be immortal!"
Maddie suddenly began feeling weaker, and not because she was worried. She fell down, shaking. "Is this a side affect from the soul sucking?"

After a few more minutes, Maddie's skin was literally white.
The Cyclopes and giants had grown about five feet.
Maddie swallowed hard, and took out her knife.
"You won't be able to kill us, stupid girl!" A giant roared. "We are nearly immortal!"
"I'm not going to kill you, idiot," Maddie muttered.

Maddie held her knife above her head, took a deep breath, and stabbed herself in the stomach.

"Stop it!!!" The giant shouted. "You're going to ruin everything!!!"
Maddie fell down on her knees. She took the knife out, and struck herself again in the stomach.
"Maddie!" Elisa screamed. "Stop!!!"
"Sorry," Maddie mumbled, and her grip on the knife weakened. She fell on her side, blood dripping from her knife and stomach.

"Fool!!!" The giant screamed. "Look at what you've done-" His sentence got cut off. He looked in horror at the other giants. They slowly began to disintegrate, along with the Cyclopes. Soon, there were no monsters left.
Elisa shook Maddie. "Maddie!!!"
Maddie didn't move.
"Suicide," Elisa muttered. "I expected Maddie would do it sooner or later...but not like this."
