The snake hissed, and handed Maddie a seven.
"Yes! I knew you had a seven!" Maddie exclaimed. "But we have to cut this game short. I'll see you later, snake."

"What are you hiding from us?" Leo asked.
"I'm not hiding anything." Annabeth said.
"You kinda are." Leo said. "You aren't telling us anything."
"Well, I think what I'm hiding is important." Annabeth said.
"What's important?" Leo asked.
"I'm the goddess of shadows, alright!!!" Annabeth shouted, and she immediately looked like she regretted saying anything.

"It's not Leo's fault Annabeth is too stubborn to tell us." Elisa said, following Maddie.
Maddie stopped running. "Um, excuse me? It's not ANNABETH'S fault that Leo is just so nosy."
Elisa scowled. "Leo isn't nosy."
"Then why did he just HAVE to know what we're talking about?" Maddie said, putting a hand on her hip. She felt a fight coming on.

"I just wanted to help!" Leo said.

"Why do you have to be on his side on absolutely everything?!" Maddie asked.

Maddie opened her mouth, then shut it. She looked at Elisa, and grinned slightly.
"Oh, great." Elisa muttered. "You're going to tease me, aren't you?"
"Most definitely." Maddie said.
