Julia shrugged. "Then tie someone to a chair and force them to listen. Like, my dad was once like, 'How was your day?' and I was about to respond. But then he was like 'Hold on, phone call.' So I grabbed his phone, snapped it in half, and forced him to listen to how my day went." Julia paused. "Okay, so maybe you shouldn't be that violent. But if you want to say something, just give people a reason to listen to you. Make it sound really interesting. I would listen to you."

During dinner, Leo sat next to Annabeth, which made her uncomfortable. First, Leo was supposed to be at a different table, and second, he normally didn't go near her.

Julia sat at Moon's table, because she didn't know her god parent yet. She picked at her food.
"What's wrong?" Moon asked.
"This...this isn't candy..." Julia frowned. "I want candy...not this food..."

Leo started talking to Annabeth. Annabeth wasn't really listening, as she had other things on her mind.
"Annabeth, is something wrong?" Leo asked.
"Maybe. Maybe not." Annabeth said quietly.
"Maybe?" Leo asked.
"Yeah."
"Maybe is a strange way to respond. Like maybe I love you, or maybe I don't." Leo grinned.
"What?" Annabeth asked.
Leo leaned closer to Annabeth without saying anything, while Annabeth looked very confused.

"Y'know, you really remind me of someone..." Moon said, as she watched Leo. "And she wouldn't like what Fire Boy is doing right now, either..." She scowled. "I hate that guy."
"You look like a very hateful person," Julia observed. "Calm down. Life is for loving, not hating. And...who do I remind you of?"
"Maddie." Moon said.
"Maddie Hills?" Julia asked slowly.
Moon's eyes widened. "Oh my gods! Do you know her?!"
Julia hesitated. "No."
"Then...how did you know her last name...?" Moon frowned.
