After nearly half an hour, Annabeth finally walked up to the front door of a cozy looking home. She knocked on the door, gritting her teeth out of fear.

Annabeth nodded. "Yeah," she said quietly.
An Asian looking woman opened the door, looking surprised to see Annabeth. "I didn't think you were actually coming."
"Well, I decided to," Annabeth said, forcing a smile.
"Gosh, you've grown," the woman said. "Just wait till your father sees you."

Annabeth nodded. "Yeah."
"You've brought a friend," the woman said, looking interested. "Who are you?" She seemed to be very kind; she wasn't being rude at all.

"Well, it's nice to meet you, Celeste," the woman said. "You and Annie seem really close."

The woman raised an eyebrow at Annabeth, smiling. "She's a good one. Do your best to keep her."
Annabeth laughed a bit, looking more comfortable. "Well, she's amazing. She's all I could ever hope for."

Annabeth smiled, and she kissed Celeste's cheek.
"Come inside, you two," Annabeth's stepmother said kindly.

"It's fine," the woman said.
"Are Bobby and Mathew here?" Annabeth asked.
"Yes, and they'll be glad to see you."
"I'll believe that when I see it," Annabeth laughed.

"My brothers," Annabeth said, shoving away some toy cars with her foot.

Annabeth immediately took a step closer to Celeste, looking uneasy. Her father walked over to her, taking her hand.
"It's okay," her father said to her gently. "Things are different now."
"No," Annabeth said nervously. "They aren't."

Annabeth's father frowned. "I'm sorry, Annabeth. I really am."
"Frederick, she hasn't seen you in years," her stepmother said. "Of course she's still scared. She'll warm up to you."
"Maybe," Annabeth said coldly as her brothers entered the room.

Annabeth's father sighed. "I'll give you some time to get settled," he said to Annabeth.
"Thank you," Annabeth said quietly.

"Your room's still upstairs," her father said.
Annabeth nodded, and she headed towards the stairs silently.

Annabeth didn't say anything as she walked into her room, which clearly hadn't been touched in a long time. It still looked like it belonged to a little girl. A bookshelf was against one wall, filled with books and various toys, and a light pink bed was across on the other side of the room, which had pink walls and a white carpet. It seemed rather nice, except for the blood stains on the floor.

Annabeth leaned against the doorway, scanning the room as if searching for old memories.
