Maddie kept walking for a few hours, seeming like she knew where they were going. It soon became too dark and freezing to keep walking. "We have to stop for tonight."
"Why did we even leave at night?" Bob asked, sitting down under a tree.
"Night's cool." Maddie sat down under another tree.

A tall woman who looked like she was in her mid-thirties was sitting in a blue chair with wheels, clicking her pen as if it was a nervous habit. Despite how fidgety she was, her light brown eyes looked wise and intelligent. She had auburn hair put in a ponytail, a few streaks of gray from stress. Two gray couches surrounded her, the plush carpet was light blue, and the walls were dark green. "Hey, Annabeth. Have a seat." Her voice was smooth and calming.
Maddie was still sleeping, her fingers curled into Leo's shirt.
Bob was already awake, and still frowning at Leo.
