Maddie swallowed hard. She took a mental inventory count of her weapons. Her knife was in the room. Her dynamite was in her coat, but she couldn't kill this girl without blowing up the entire ship. Using her gun...definitely not. She was sure she'd break down crying. Maybe it was best not to kill the girl yet, though. Maddie was determined to find out where Ananbeth was.
"Where'd you hide her?" Maddie asked, her voice higher-pitched and more British sounding than usual.

Maddie sighed. "The Annabeth that was in Tartarus wasn't really Annabeth. Some weird girl in black robes was pretending to be Annabeth so she'd befriend us and stuff. I'm really awesome, as you know, so I was all, 'Dude, tell us where the real Annabeth is,' and she was all, 'Yes, yes, she's in an underground cave in Alaska! Please don't blind me with you're awesomeness, Lord Madeline!' Anyway, after that, I forbid her from the ship, and she just disappeared like, 'Giiiiirl you just WENT there.' ...I hope that made some sense, I didn't take my pills today."
