Chiron sighed. "Maddie, you're going. I'm not changing my decision." Chiron stood up. "Everyone is excused. Maddie, you may choose two companions."

Maddie ran to her cabin. She liked leading people. But she didn't exactly like being the leader, or having all of the attention as the leader. If people listened to everything she said, everyone would probably be dead or dying in five minutes. She began packing a duffel bag with some snacks, water, and healing supplies.

Maddie tried to fall asleep at night, but it didn't work. She was too nervous. She tried dying a bright red streak in her hair for good luck. She liked red. Maddie sighed and flopped down on her bed, and squeezed her eyes shut, attempting really hard to fall asleep.

Nico shadow traveled to pipers cabin and hid it where she would find it. He went to the woods and sat there with his head in his hands

Maddie fell asleep for about an hour, when the sun rose. Maddie yawned, feeling exhausted. She zipped her duffel bag closed. It's time to start the quest, Maddie thought anxiously.
