Maddie nodded. "See you." She walked into the woods, and laid against a tree. She tried to fall asleep, but she couldn't. She wished she hadn't told Annabeth about her being a shadow. She knew once one of her friends knew, all of her friends would know. And then, she'd be left friendless and alone again.
