"Umm...well...Aphrodite was really mad at me for accidently killing Celeste, so she said I could never be trusted to ever care about anyone again. I promised I wouldn't, but then I met Annabeth, and we became close friends, so she got really angry. And then she put this curse on me that whoever I have a friendship or relationship with will leave me after a while," Maddie said.
