"Why don't you just invite yourself in," Maddie said sarcastically.
Elisa jumped, scowling. Then she saw Maddie, and plastered a smile on her face. "Oh, sorry."

"You're the one who's loitering," Maddie said. "Can you just leave?"

Maddie didn't fall asleep all night, and was exhausted in the morning. Elisa had freaked her out. No, the pinning her on her wall didn't freak her out. She got pinned against walls a lot, so she kind of got used to it. But what had Elisa been doing looking around in her things? Did she find something about Maddie?
