Maddie kept staring at the ground. She saw a giant frozen shark under her as she walked. She seemed to keep staring at it, even when they walked away.
"Are you scared of sharks?" Elisa asked Maddie.
Maddie shook her head. "No, I just don't like them frozen. They're really great friends."
Elisa wondered if Maddie was joking, but she looked serious. She just nodded and kept walking.

When night came, they were in the woods.
"What's it like in Camp Half Blood?" Elisa asked.
"I like the woods better. The only reason I stay there is because they have food at the dining pavilion." Maddie muttered.
"I get the vibe that you're kind of bitter." Elisa said.
Maddie didn't say anything.
"That's fine," Elisa said. "I'll try to make you feel better."
"Good luck." Maddie muttered.

The next morning, two campers left in search for Annabeth. They returned three days later with no luck. The same happened for several months, but nobody was able to find her. Almost a year had passed, and Annabeth was nowhere to be found.
