Do you think you are a good person?
Let's do a test here based on a few of the 10
Commandments.
"You shall not
bear false witness against your neighbor.
Exodus 20: 16
Have you ever
lied against someone? Even a "little" lie?
"You shall not
steal.
Exodus 20: 15
Have you ever
stolen something before? Even something small, or an image off the
internet for example?
"You shall not
take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not
hold him guiltless who takes His name in
vain.
Exodus 20: 7
Have you ever
used God's Name in place of a swear word? Or even said om and took
His Name in vain? Taking God's Name in vain is called blasphemy.
Would you use your parent's name in place of a swear word?
Probably not. So why would you take the Name of the One who gave
you breath in vain?
What do you call
someone who lies
a
liar.
What do you call someone who
steals
a thief.
What do you call someone who
blasphemes
a blasphemer.
I am not judging you, but if
you have lied,
you are a liar,
if you have
stealed,
you are thief,
if you have
blasphemed,
you are a
blasphemer.
And we only looked at 3 of the
10 Commandments.
If God
judged you today based on the 10 Commandments would you be innocent
or guilty? Heaven or hell?
If you
are saying/thinking something along the lines of, "I've done great
things though."
Think of
it this way.
For
example in Court the judge judges the person based on the crime
he/she committed. If the one who is being judged in Court says
something along the lines of, "Your Honour, I have done other good
things though." and or "Your Honour, I'm very sorry I did that I
won't do it again, please just let me go." The judge is there to
judge the person on the crime he/she committed, it doesn't matter
how many good things he/she did, the judge is judging him/her on
the crime he/she has done and is there to serve justice and punish
him/her (for example jail) accordingly.
But here
is the good news!
Going
with the Court example when someone has been proven guilty in Court
someone can legally come in and pay the fine for the person proven
guilty, so he/she can legally go free, because the fine has been
paid.
for all
have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 3:23
Jesus
left Heaven and came to earth and got a physical body, and died on
the cross, paying the price of our sin. Jesus paid the price of
death for us so we could go free. He never sinned so He made the
perfect sacrifice with His Own pure Blood. We broke the law, but Jesus paid the price for
us. And on the third day, He
rose from the grave defeating death. His Blood can make you
clean. But will you accept Him as your
Saviour?
"For God so loved the world
that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him
should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3: 16
If you believe in Jesus and
that He died and rose again to save you because He loves you so
much no matter what, so much that He came to earth, died, and rose
again to save you! And you confess your sins and ask Him to be your
Saviour and come into your heart, and follow Him then you will be
saved! You don't have to be afraid of death, you don't even have to
fear!
The Teacup Story -
There was a couple who used to go to England to shop in beautiful stores. They both liked antiques and pottery and especially teacups. This was their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. One day in this beautiful shop they saw a beautiful cup. They said, "May we see that? We've never seen one quite so beautiful." As the lady handed it to them, suddenly the cup spoke. "You don't understand," it said. "I haven't always been a teacup. There was a time when I was red and I was clay. My master took me and rolled me and patted me over and over and I yelled out, 'let me alone,' but he only smiled, 'Not yet.' "Then I was placed on a spinning wheel," the cup said, "and suddenly I was spun around and around and around. Stop it! I'm getting dizzy! I screamed. But the master only nodded and said, 'Not yet.' "Then he put me in the oven. I never felt such heat!" the teacup said. "I wondered why he wanted to burn me, and I yelled and knocked at the door. I could see him through the opening and I could read his lips as He shook his head, 'Not yet.' "Finally the door opened, he put me on the shelf, and I began to cool. 'There, that's better,' I said. And he brushed and painted me all over. The fumes were horrible. I thought I would gag. 'Stop it, stop it!' I cried. He only nodded, 'Not yet.' "Then suddenly he put me back into the oven, not like the first one. This was twice as hot and I knew I would suffocate. I begged. I pleaded. I screamed. I cried. All the time I could see him through the opening, nodding his head saying, 'Not yet.' "Then I knew there wasn't any hope. I would never make it. I was ready to give up. But the door opened and he took me out and placed me on the shelf. One hour later he handed me a mirror and said, 'Look at yourself.' And I did. I said, 'That's not me; that couldn't be me. It's beautiful. I'm beautiful.' "'I want you to remember, then,' he said, 'I know it hurts to be rolled and patted, but if I had left you alone, you'd have dried up. I know it made you dizzy to spin around on the wheel, but if I had stopped, you would have crumbled. I knew it hurt and was hot and disagreeable in the oven, but if I hadn't put you there, you would have cracked. I know the fumes were bad when I brushed and painted you all over, but if I hadn't done that, you never would have hardened; you would not have had any color in your life. And if I hadn't put you back in that second oven, you wouldn't survive for very long because the hardness would not have held. Now you are a finished product. You are what I had in mind when I first began with you.'" ~ Author Unknown Found on https://www.creativebiblestudy.com/teacup-story.html Diane, a girl aged around seventeen went
to visit friends one evening. The time passed quickly as they
shared their various experiences of the past year. She ended up
staying longer than planned and had to walk home alone. She wasn't
afraid because it was a small town and she lived only a few blocks
away. As she walked under the tall elm trees, Diane asked God to
keep her safe from harm and danger. When she reached the alley,
which was a short cut to her house, she decided to take it.
However, halfway down the alley, she noticed a man standing at the
end as though he were waiting for her. She became uneasy and began
to pray, asking for God's protection. Instantly a comforting
feeling of quietness and security wrapped round her, she felt as
though someone was walking with her. When she reached the end of
the alley, she walked right past the man and arrived home safely.
The following day, she read in the newspaper that a young girl had
been raped in the same alley just twenty minutes after she had been
there. Feeling overwhelmed by this tragedy and the fact that it
could have been her, she began to weep, thanking the Lord for her
safety and to help this young woman, she decided to go to the
police station. She felt she could recognize the man, so she told
them her story. The police asked her if she would be willing to
look at a lineup to see if she could identify him. She agreed and
immediately pointed out the man she had seen in the alley the night
before. When the man was told he had been identified, he
immediately broke down and confessed. The officer thanked Diane for
her bravery and asked if there was anything they could do for her.
She asked if they would ask the man one question. Diane was curious
as to why he had not attacked her. When the policeman asked him, he
answered, "Because she wasn't alone. She had two tall men walking
on either side of her.
Amazingly, whether you believe it or
not, you're never alone. Please put this on your page! God is
always there for you. He will never leave.
When the devil sees
you carrying a bible, he gets a headache. When he
sees you open it, he collapses. When he sees you reading it, he
faints. When he sees you living it, he flees and just when you
about to post this, he tries to discourage you. I
just defeated him! Post this if you're in God's
army.
I asked Jesus, "How
much
do you love me?" Jesus replies, "This much."
And
stretched His arms on the cross and died, so that His Blood
could be shed to save us. Three days later He rose again because
death could not hold Him. If you love Jesus, put this on your
page.
